Howard Johnson’s hotel torn down to make way for The Paramount Fort Lauderdale Beach, an 18 story 95 Unit luxury condo. With the former Howard Johnson's hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach reduced to rubble, it won't be long before gold shovels hit the dirt to signify construction of The Paramount. Developers Art Falcone, Nitin Motwani and Daniel Kodsi expect to break ground on the luxury condo project in the fourth quarter of this year, and the opening is set for early 2016. Prices will start at $1 million. The former hotel at 700 State Road A1A was damaged during Hurricane Wilma and was recently demolished. The site is near the new Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Residences, a condo-hotel that once carried the Donald Trump name.
