Canada's University of Waterloo recently conducted a study that correlates directly between your well-being and commute time to work. The results from the study was posted in the World Leisure Journal. People who have the longest commutes felt stressed and worried about the activities that they were missing out on. The stress is the result of feeling "hurried" to be at their job on time.
The detriment of a longer commute may outweigh the benefits of earning more money. Before accepting a position which earns you more, take into the factors of more fuel, more time on the roads and more stress which can lead to mental and health problems. If you find that you are in this situation and can change, do it now by looking for a home closer to your place of employment. You'll be happier in the long run and will thank yourself for allowing more time with your family, friends and YOURSELF!
